Dennis ‘Loverboy’ Condrey, the wrestling icon who rose to fame as one half of The Midnight Express alongside Bobby Eaton, has passed away aged 74.

Fellow professional wrestler Dax Harwood broke the news on Friday through an emotional Instagram post, describing Condrey as a “true pioneer of professional wrestling”.

The tag team partnership with Eaton during the 1980s is widely regarded as one of the finest in wrestling history.

Eaton himself died in 2021.

No cause of death has been disclosed.

Tributes from across the wrestling community have flooded in following the announcement of Condrey’s passing.

Harwood reflected on the profound bond he shared with Condrey, noting that they would exchange messages after his matches.
