Political commentator and publican has hit out at the BBC for rolling out “another wrong’un”.

It comes after BBC Bargain Hunt star Ochuko Ojiri appeared in Westminster Magistrates’ Court charged with terror offences.

The 53-year-old art dealer and antiques expert attended court today facing charges related to alleged terrorist funding.

Ojiri, from west London, has been a regular face on several BBC programmes for years, including Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road Trip.

He is known for his enthusiastic on-screen demeanour and love of hats.

Ojiri faces eight counts under section 21A of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Ojiri has not worked on BBC programmes since 2023.

A BBC spokesman said: “It would not be appropriate to comment on ongoing legal proceedings.”

The investigation that prompted the charges was a joint effort involving multiple agencies.

Ojiri appeared in court just hours after the charges were made public.

The case marks a significant precedent as the first prosecution under this specific section of the Terrorism Act 2000.

No details have been released about when Ojiri will next appear in court.
