Christian Pulisic has had enough of the rumour mill and he’s making that crystal clear.
The American football star took to his Instagram Story on Sunday to shut down speculation linking him romantically to actress Sydney Sweeney.
“Please stop with the made up stories about my personal life. Need to hold sources accountable it can affect people’s lives,” Pulisic wrote.
He didn’t stop there either. The USMNT winger also responded to another social media post about the supposed romance, commenting: “Fake news guys let’s stop with the silly rumor.”

The dating claims had surfaced online during the week, with various reports suggesting the pair had been seeing each other recently.
Here’s the thing though – both Pulisic and Sweeney are very much spoken for, which had fans questioning the reports from the start.
The footballer has been in a committed relationship with golfer Alexa Melton since the summer of 2024. The couple have since made things Instagram official and regularly pop up on each other’s social media feeds.
As for Sweeney, the 28-year-old actress has been romantically involved with former talent manager Scooter Braun, 44. The pair were first spotted together at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s summer wedding in Italy, sparking initial romance rumours.
Their romance was confirmed in early September after they spent time together at the Venice wedding, with reports describing them as ‘casually’ seeing each other.

Things clearly progressed from there. The couple were spotted on several dates, including a rather affectionate moment in New York City’s Central Park back in early November.
More recently, Sweeney and Braun showed they’re still going strong. Earlier this month, the actress was seen getting cosy with the music mogul at a VIP afterparty following the premiere of her new film The Housemaid.
So it’s fair to say both stars are happily attached elsewhere.

Looking ahead, Pulisic will no doubt want to keep his attention firmly on the pitch with the 2026 World Cup approaching.
The tournament is set to take place across America, Canada and Mexico.
Sweeney, meanwhile, is enjoying a brilliant career bounce-back. Her latest film The Housemaid opened to an impressive $19-20 million domestically in its first weekend, holding its own against James Cameron’s newest Avatar release.

Those three films combined earned less than The Housemaid managed in just its opening days.
