Two drivers have died after a four-vehicle collision near Bristol.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash, on the A370 at Yanley, near Long Ashton, at about 7.45pm on Saturday, Avon and Somerset Police said.

Two car drivers died at the scene despite the efforts of the emergency services, the force added.

Both families have been informed, and family liaison officers are offering their support.

Two other vehicles were involved in the collision, but nobody else was seriously hurt, police said.

The road remains closed between Colliters Way roundabout and the junction with the B3130 Barrow Street while inquiries continue.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
