Raptors vs Pacers: Toronto shorthanded with key players ruled out due to injuries

The Toronto Raptors will be significantly short-handed when they take on the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night, with several key players ruled out due to injury and illness.

The team confirmed that RJ Barrett will miss the Raptors vs Pacers matchup with an ankle injury.

Jakob Poeltl will also be ruled out due to a back issue, and Sandro Mamukealshvili because of illness.

Apart from that, Immanuel Quickly and Garrett Temple, are also set to miss the game as they are both dealing with back spasms.

Quickley and Mamukelashvili were late additions to the injury report Wednesday morning. Barrett was hurt late in Friday’s loss to the Boston Celtics after rolling his ankle.

The injury comes after Barrett previously missed 15 games earlier this season with a knee issue, during which Toronto posted a 6-9 record.

Poeltl has been dealing with lower back problems throughout the year and was limited to just seven minutes in a game on December 21   against Brooklyn before exiting.

His production has dipped to 9.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game after signing a three-year, $84 million contract extension after a career-best 2024-25 season.
