Crystal Palace have added Thomas Frank to their shortlist of potential successors to Oliver Glasner, who has already confirmed he’s leaving Selhurst Park at the end of the season.
Frank was axed by Tottenham on Wednesday, just hours after a dire 2-1 defeat to Newcastle.
The north London giants had only appointed the 52-year-old as a replacement for Ange Postecoglou back in the summer, with the Australian losing his job despite steering Spurs to Europa League glory.
Yet Frank struggled to get the best from his players and, with Spurs fighting for Premier League survival, the hierarchy opted to wield the axe having grown deeply concerned about their lack of progress.
Now, however, GB News understands that Frank could return to management once the current season is over.
Palace have added the Dane to their shortlist of replacements for Glasner, who announced last month that he wouldn’t be extending his stay in the capital.
The Austrian has worked wonders during his time with Palace, winning trophies such as the FA Cup and Community Shield.

However, results this season have left much to be desired with Palace experiencing a significant dip.
Glasner grew frustrated with Palace selling their star players. Eberechi Eze was allowed to depart in the summer for Arsenal, having played a key role in their cup triumphs.
He was also furious that Marc Guehi was offloaded to Manchester City in January, having previously expressed a belief that the England international would stay.

PAGlasner has been linked with the Manchester United job, though the Red Devils are prioritising other targets at the current moment in time.
It’s understood that the 51-year-old is, however, under consideration at Tottenham – though several men are ahead of him.
Mauricio Pochettino is Spurs’ No 1 target, having previously managed the club between 2014 and 2019. Though currently manager of the United States national team, he’s open to the possibility of returning to north London for a second stint.
Some behind the scenes also admire Roberto De Zerbi, who was axed by Marseille earlier this week.
While that’s the case, however, there are concerns that the Italian’s combative nature will cause issues within the Tottenham squad.
John Heitinga is widely expected to take charge on an interim basis in the wake of Frank’s departure, despite Harry Redknapp and Tim Sherwood expressing interest in the role.

GETTYSpeaking yesterday, Redknapp said: “Would I fancy it? Of course I would do it, without any shadow of a doubt.
“But I am a realist – I don’t live in (cloud) cuckoo land. It is very doubtful if I would get the job. But could I do the job? Yeah, of course I could do the job.”
He added: “What they need now is someone to go in, get down to basics, hard work – when you lose the ball, don’t be embarrassed to run and try to get it back.
“When you lose (the ball), close down, work together, (get a) bit of confidence, make them believe in themselves.
“Somebody goes in and does that, they can get the results they need – but it ain’t going to be easy.”
Sherwood, meanwhile, threw his name into the hat by saying: “It was an honour for me to manage that football club and it would be an honour for me to manage them again.
“I can do the job. I have proved that I can do the job. What they can’t do is make a mistake with this appointment.”
