A Georgia community honored a local high school student after he was shot and killed as he was leaving a football game.
Dameon Meyers Jr. was gunned down as he and his brother Makai Meyers were walking to their car on Halloween night after an evening cheering on Lovejoy High School in Clayton County.
Three masked gunmen confronted Meyers and Makai and demanded that they empty their pockets.
Makai detailed being pistol whipped and hit by the attackers before they turned to his brother and open-fired.
‘They didn’t take nothing off him. All they did was take his life,’ Makai, 16, said.
Meyers’ family held a candlelight vigil at the place of his death to honor him this week.
Dozens of friends and family members gathered to share their memories of the young man, including how he the aspiring barber would provide free haircuts for homeless people.
‘We thank you God for allowing him to be a part of our family,’ said one loved one at the service in video obtained by WSB-TV.
Loved ones said Meyers was known to be generous, always giving back to his community.

Meyers frequently shared videos on social media walking around his town advertising his barber service.
He even cut his classmates’ hair before senior picture day.
According to his obituary, the teen was a ‘luminous soul’.
‘Though Dameon may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night,’ loved ones wrote.
However the late teen’s family also hit out at the police, claiming that Clayton County officials had an unsatisfactory response time.
Meyers’ father, Dameon Meyers Sr., told the WSB-TV that there was a police precinct within walking distance of the parking lot.
He said there should have been plenty of officials around to assist Meyers.
‘I never thought, never thought in the worst nightmare I would have thought this would happen,’ Dameon Sr. said.

Meyers’ father alleged that the family had provided police with a list of potential culprits.
Police told WSB-TV that no suspects have been named nor arrests made in line with the teen’s death.
