Stefon Diggs has been called out on social media for handing a ball to a New England Patriots cheerleader just moments after his girlfriend Cardi B announced the birth of their son.
The 33-year-old rapper gave birth to her fourth child – and first with Diggs – last week but only confirmed the news in an Instagram post on Thursday.
The announcement came minutes before Diggs took to the field for the Patriots on Thursday night against the New York Jets.
But he quickly drew criticism when he caught a pass from quarterback Drake Maye in the first quarter and handed the ball to a cheerleader in celebration.
The clip instantly spread on social media, with many questioning whether it was wise to do so just minutes after the birth of his child had been announced.
Among those was Patriots Super Bowl winner and NFL analyst Jason McCourty, who posted the clip on X and wrote: ‘Bruh what’s wrong with Stefon Diggs’.

Others thought the same and made their feelings on the situation clear.
An Amazon Prime viewer wrote: ‘Bro knows what he’s doing at this point’ with a crying emoji.
Another posted: ‘Cardi, get your man. He out her again’.
‘Diggs really toss the cheerleader the ball. Bro can’t help himself,’ a third wrote.
‘Stefon Diggs tossing the ball to that cheerleader on national TV got me weak ask. Like damn bro. At least TRY,’ one stunned viewer posted.
Another critic added: ‘Cardi just had the baby’.
Diggs – who is also father to an eight-year-old daughter from a previous relationship – had a lively opening to the game on Thursday.
He was aggressively thrown to the floor by an opponent, who was given a penalty for his actions.
Cardi B welcomed a baby boy last week, sources told TMZ, with Diggs present with the music artist when their little one was born.
She is already mother to three children whom she shares with ex Offset: Kulture, seven, Wave, four and Blossom, one.
Alongside a video of herself wearing a stylish all-black outfit, the performer penned in the caption: ‘My life has always been a combination of different chapters and different seasons. My last chapter was the beginning of a new season.
‘Starting over is never easy but it’s been so worth it! I brought new music and a new album to the world!’ she continued.
‘A new baby into my world, and one more reason to be the best version of me, one more reason to love me more than anything else or anyone else so I can continue giving my babies the love and life they deserve.’
The rapper made a surprise appearance at Gillette Stadium earlier this month when she sat alongside Patriots owner Robert Kraft, 84, in his luxurious VIP suite to witness her beau and his teammates cruise to a win over the Atlanta Falcons.
The couple went public in May 2025, just a few months after Diggs signed a three-year deal with the Patriots worth up to $69million.
