Cori Broadus, the daughter of legendary rapper Snoop Dogg, took to social media Sunday to honor her late daughter Codi Dreaux following a memorial service in the wake of the child’s death last month.
Cori, 26, posted to Instagram a carousel of images in memory of her late child, who she shared with fiancé, photographer Wayne Deuce, 33.
Codi tragically passed away January 26 after a long stay in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), the daughter of the 54-year-old musical artist said January 31.
Codi had been born three months prematurely, and was cared for in the NICU until she was discharged last month.
Cori’s latest post was captioned, ‘Part of me went with you, my girl for life;’ it featured excerpts from a clip of an emotional speech she gave about her beloved daughter in a memorial service held Saturday.
‘I don’t understand why this happened,’ Cori said. ‘I’m trusting God, but that doesn’t mean it makes sense to me.

‘Some days I’m wondering if this world was just too cruel for someone as pure as you; other days, I wonder, how am I supposed to live in a world without you in my arms, Codi?’
Cori said in the emotional speech, ‘I am devastated knowing I didn’t get all the time to teach you all of the things I wanted to teach you.’
Cori continued, ‘I wanted to show you how to be kind in a hard world; how to be brave when life feels unfair; how to love yourself fiercely.’
The grieving mom added, ‘I wanted to watch you take your first step; celebrate your first birthday; walk you to your first day of school.
‘I wanted to be there for your wins, your heartbreaks, your questions, and every moment in between.’
Cori added a little humor to the somber proceedings in saying, ‘I wanted to hear about your first crush – and secretly hope you wouldn’t change them every week like I did.’
Among the images in the carousel included a shot of Cori sitting peacefully at her child’s gravesite; embracing supportive relatives; and cartoons depicting the beloved late child.
In a previous post on Instagram Stories, Codi captioned a shot of the program from the memorial: ‘Fly high perfect girl.’

On his Instagram, Deuce wrote, ‘Forever daddy’s pretty girl I love you so much Codi Dreaux & I will never forget about you girl #LongLiveCodiDreaux.’
He previously said, ‘I been the saddest since u left me Codi Dreaux. But I know u at peace. Daddy will always love you. My baby.’
Cori made the tragic announcement on January 31, posting a black-and-white picture of herself with her child with the caption, ‘Monday I lost the love of my life. My Codi.’
Cori previously said that her daughter’s health problems involved an ailment called HELLP syndrome, which is form of preeclampsia. Cori, who lives with Lupus, had past said that her pregnancy was a ‘high-risk’ one.
Cori is the youngest daughter of the Young, Wild & Free rapper with his wife Shante Broadus. He is also father to sons Corde, 31, and Cordell, 28, with Shante; and to son Julian, 27, from a prior relationship.
