QUETTA:

Seven people perished and eight sustained injuries when two vehicles collided on the Makran Coastal Highway near Neji, about 40 kilometres from Ormara on Saturday night.

Rescue officials reported that the crash occurred around 2:30 am when a stalled oil tanker suddenly obstructed the road, causing two speeding vehicles to collide. One vehicle was traveling from Gwadar to Karachi, while the other was heading from Karachi to Turbat.

The impact was so severe that several passengers died instantly, while others sustained serious injuries. Rescue 1122 teams and Coastal Highway police promptly reached the site, moving the deceased and injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Among those who lost their lives were Mushtaq, son of Arbab from Shahdadkot; Bano from Hoshab; Ali Ahmed, son of Hasil Khan from Quetta; Ali Bakhsh, son of Abdul Ghafoor from Sonmiani; Karim Jan, son of Ali Jan from Turbat; and Dad Muhammad, son of Misri from Karachi.
