Robert Patrick is reacting to fan theories of his character Davey Scatino killing James Gandolfini’s crime boss Tony Soprano in the finale of The Sopranos.

The theory emerged when fans noticed someone that looked like Davey in the background of a diner scene. The finale left fans in the dark about the crime boss’ future as the screen cut to black.

Patrick revealed that he was never told anything of the sort by showrunner David Chase.

“I feel blessed that people would really still be thinking about my character at the end,” Patrick told TV Insider. “But boy, what a great experience.”

The X-Files actor played Davey for three episodes in season 2, which saw Tony leadinh him to lose a serious amount in a poker game and defraud his business in repayment. Davey then left for Nevada after his business went bankrupt and his family left him.

The Tulsa King star previously revealed that he used Gandolfini’s line from The Sopranos in the new to Sylvester Stallone-led show to pay a tribute to him.

He recalled that Gandolfini asked him, “How’s your balls?” before giving him the beatdown on screen, which “scared the living s—” out of Patrick.

In Tulsa King, Patrick’s crime boss Jeremiah Dunmire says the line to rival “The General” Manfredi (Stallone) in season 3.

“The crossover from Sopranos to Tulsa King, the fans are there,” he told TV Insider. “That’s a throughline there for sure. Yeah, that’s why I threw out that line, ‘How’s your balls, Manfredi?'”
