Sky Sports viewers left furious by shock decision for Fulham and Nottingham Forest match
Viewers tuning into Monday Night Football were left furious after Sky Sports Main Event inexplicably cut away from the Premier League clash between Fulham and Nottingham Forest.
Around the 80th minute of the encounter at Craven Cottage, the broadcast suddenly switched to coverage of the World Darts Championship, showing Luke Humphries’ match against Paul Lim.
The unexpected interruption lasted for more than 60 seconds before the football coverage resumed.
The technical blunder occurred during what proved to be a tight affair, with Fulham ultimately securing a narrow 1-0 victory courtesy of Raul Jimenez’s first-half stoppage time penalty.
Supporters watching on the main Sky Sports channel were understandably incensed by the disruption.
Social media was quickly flooded with reactions from disgruntled fans, many of whom resorted to humour to express their frustration.
“I know Fulham vs Nottingham Forest has been a boring game, but still no excuse for Sky Sports to change the feed to the darts,” wrote one viewer.

Another quipped: “Sky Sports Main Event really said ‘we’ve had enough of this, pop the darts on’.”
The mockery continued as a third fan posted: “Sky Sports Main Event got bored with the football then? Yeah it was a c*** game.”
One supporter joked that the broadcaster had simply grown tired of the contest, commenting: “Sky Sports Main Event got bored of the Fulham v Forest game and switched on darts fairs.”

Jimenez proved to be the match-winner with his spot-kick just before the half-time whistle, converting with typical composure despite attempts to put him off.
The Mexican striker’s successful effort extended his remarkable Premier League penalty record to eleven goals from eleven attempts.
This flawless conversion rate places him alongside Manchester City legend Yaya Toure as one of only two players in top-flight history to maintain a perfect record from the spot.
The 33-year-old’s reliability from twelve yards has become one of his defining attributes since arriving in English football, and his latest successful conversion proved decisive in securing all three points for the Cottagers.
Fulham’s slender victory at Craven Cottage lifted the west London side ten points above the relegation zone, providing valuable breathing room in their battle for Premier League survival.
There was, however, as defender Joachim Andersen suffered a dislocated finger during the match.

Forest, who arrived in strong form this season, were unable to find a way past Marco Silva’s side despite the hosts’ narrow advantage.
Speaking after the game, Silva said: “[He’s] crucial, he’s a great penalty taker and not just in a Fulham shirt.
“The calmness, the quality, the braveness to go until the last moment and of course when the goalkeeper doesn’t move of course its the moment for him to be very assertive in the way he’s going to take, he’s a great taker and very reliable.
“He needed a goal, he’s not in his best in terms of confidence but the reality is that the last four games at home he’s scored twice and both goals have given us the win.”
The result means Fulham head into the festive period in a considerably healthier position than many of their relegation rivals, with Jimenez’s penalty proving the difference in a contest that failed to capture the imagination of neutral observers.
As for Forest, they’re five points above West Ham in the drop zone.
