Two teens killed after Tesla crashes into tree in Surrey as man arrested


Two teenagers have died and a third is fighting for his life in hospital after a Tesla crashed into a tree.

One of the victims, a man in his late teens, died at the scene of the collision in Hurst Green, Surrey, shortly before 10pm on Saturday, just days before Christmas.


The second man, also in his late teens, died in hospital, Surrey Police confirmed.

Officers were called to the scene on Holland Road near the junction with Popes Lane following reports of a serious crash involving a white Tesla and a tree.

The third young man, in his late teens, is fighting for his life in hospital.

Police said the driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A 30-year-old man from Oxted has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Officers said Holland Road remains closed between the junction with Popes Lane and the junction with Warren Lane while police continue to investigate, with people urged to avoid the area.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward and are particularly interested in CCTV, dashcam, or helmet cam footage that may have captured all or part of the incident.
