Lisa Vanderpump reveals truth about Vanderpump Rules ratings amid rumors reboot may be canceled

Lisa Vanderpump is setting the record straight following reports that the reboot of her hit series Vanderpump Rules has flopped.

The longrunning Bravo series was recently rebooted with an entirely new cast for its twelfth season, which premiered on Bravo and Peacock earlier this month.

After live TV ratings for the premiere were less than impressive, rumors started swirling that the beloved series may be headed for cancelation.

However, Lisa has now revealed that Vanderpump Rules isn’t going anywhere following its impressive performance on streaming platforms.

Issuing a statement on social media on Thursday, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star said, ‘Just got the good news that Vanderpump Rules is thriving.’

She continued, ‘The Season 12 premiere reached 2.6million viewers across platforms, making it bigger than all new series in 2025! Congrats to our incredible cast and crew.’

The post was also shared by both Bravo and the show’s production company 32 Flavors.

The big numbers mean that Vanderpump Rules has outperformed Next Gen NYC, Bravo’s Love Hotel, and Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition.

It comes after the premiere pulled in just 290,000 live TV viewers for its season 12 premiere, making it the least-watched live episode in the show’s history.

However, the lower numbers are to be expected given that the show’s target demographic skews younger and that viewers are now watching shows on streaming or catch-up.

Bravo bigwig Andy Cohen recently slammed reports about the ratings being bad on an episode of his SiriusXM show Radio Andy.

‘I start getting things from people telling me how Beverly Hills sucks and how the ratings are so bad for Vanderpump Rules,’ he said.

‘First of all, you don’t know the ratings for Vanderpump Rules. We don’t look at live ratings. I haven’t looked at a live rating for anything on Bravo. You know what the live ratings are? Hashmarks. It’s delayed, it’s DVR, and it’s Peacock.’

Ariana Madix, Tom Sandoval, Lala Kent, James Kennedy, Tom Schwartz, and Katie Maloney were the veteran stars of Vanderpump Rules until last year, when the decision was made to recast them with fresh faces.

The series, which follows a group of rowdy waiters working at Lisa’s West Hollywood restaurant SUR, now follows a new cast that includes Venus Binkley, Marcus Johnson, Audrey Lingle, Natalie Maguire, Kim Suarez, and Demy Selem.

Meanwhile, the original cast have all moved on with new TV ventures.

Lala and Schwartz have officially joined the Vanderpump Rules spin-off The Valley, while Maloney is filming Stassi Schroeder’s upcoming Hulu series, Stassi Says.

Sandoval is touring the country as a musician following his successful stint on America’s Got Talent and is also set to star on the next season of E!’s House of Villains.

Madix, of course, is the most successful of the bunch thanks to her gig as the host of Love Island USA and her recent work on NBC’s The Voice.

The only Vanderpump Rules cast members who have been unable to secure new TV gigs so far are James Kennedy and Scheana Shay.

Kennedy has focused on his DJing career after getting into a domestic violence scandal last year, while Shay has claimed that she turned down a role on The Valley season three.

Shay was most recently out peddling her tell-all memoir, which was filled with scandalous details about her various celebrity hookups and feuds.

It’s unclear if she has any plans to return to the small screen in the future.
