Morgan Freeman is set to voice announcements at London Underground’s Baker Street station to celebrate 150 years of Warburtons

London commuters will hear Morgan Freeman‘s iconic honeyed tones across Baker Street’s tanoy if they are at the station on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Hollywood actor, 88, who is the latest star to be the face of Warburtons, will voice batch of playful, bakery-themed announcements on the northbound Jubilee line platform.

Instead of ‘mind the gap,’ Morgan will ask passengers to ‘mind the bap’ and ‘stand behind the buttery yellow line’.

The platform’s ’roundel’ signage will be transformed into giant crumpets, with selected signage on the platform aptly changing to ‘Bakers Street’.

The transformation, in partnership with TfL, is designed to raise the moods of Londoners as Warburtons toasts 150-years in business.

Chairman of Warburtons, Jonathan Warburton said: ‘At Warburtons, we have a classic Northern sense of humour and we wanted to share a bit of that fun with Londoners on their daily commute and hopefully raise a few smiles.

‘As you can probably tell, we also love a good bread pun, so Baker Street was a match made in heaven, and hearing a voice as legendary as Morgan Freeman’s booming to travellers on the platform is certainly a recipe for a memorable day.’

Morgan is the latest star to appear in a Warburtons advert after A-listers Olivia ColmanRobert de Niro and George Clooney previously featured.

The actor takes viewers on a heartwarming journey through Warburtons history, from the very first loaf baked in 1876 to the present day, delving into the heart of the family business’ obsession with baking.

Warburtons adverts are famous for using big-name celebrities alongside their chairman in humorous, star-studded campaigns promoting their breads.

They feature stars like Olivia, Samuel L. Jackson, Clooney, Sylvester Stallone, and Peter Kay.

Most recently, Olivia played a stern official from a fake Department of National Treasures who stages a mock investigation of the bakery to justify a massive heist of crumpets in 2025 ad, The Inspection.

In a 2021 advert, George Clooney was seen trying to get in touch with bakery boss Jonathan to pitch an idea. Unfortunately, his call comes at snack time – and toast comes first.

George took the part on one condition: the hefty fee was paid to the charity foundation Clooney runs with his barrister wife Amal.

Speaking about his involvement in the advert, Morgan said previously: ‘Lending my voice to chronicle 150 years of this family’s unwavering dedication to the simple, yet profound, act of baking… well, that’s a narrative that truly deserves to be heard.

‘Their commitment to quality baking, passed down through generations, shines through, making it abundantly clear why they’ve remained a beloved household name for so long.

‘And I confess, I found myself quite taken by that crumpet – 300 holes, I told you these Warburtons were crazy!’
