Three people lost their lives and two others were injured in separate traffic accidents in Landhi and Manghopir on Sunday. The incidents, involving motorcycles and runaway oil tankers, have raised safety concerns as police investigate the causes and review CCTV footage from the scenes.
A traffic accident near Landhi No 6 Chowrangi on Sunday left one young man dead and another injured. Both were riding a motorcycle when they were hit by a speeding, unidentified vehicle. The injured were rushed to Jinnah Hospital, where the deceased was identified as 25-year-old Yasir and the injured as 20-year-old Israr.
Meanwhile, two people were killed when an oil tanker lost control and struck them in Manghopir’s Mianwali Colony. The victims have been identified as 70-year-old Lal Man Shah and 25-year-old Asadullah.
Manghopir SHO Khush Nawaz said initial investigations suggest the accident occurred due to brake failure in the oil tanker. Another stationary tanker on the roadside was struck by the moving tanker, which then collided with a dumper. Both victims were hit during the crash.
