Tommy Fleetwood hits astonishing ‘slam dunk’ shot at Genesis Invitational for incredible eagle
Tommy Fleetwood produced one of the most spectacular moments of the 2026 Genesis Invitational on Sunday, holing out from 173 yards on the 15th fairway at Riviera for a quite remarkable eagle.
The Englishman’s iron shot found the bottom of the cup directly, creating an unforgettable highlight during the final round in California.
While plenty of eagles were made throughout the day at the famous Los Angeles course, with most coming on the par-5 first hole, Fleetwood’s effort on the back nine stood out as perhaps the most interesting of the lot.
Fleetwood had set himself up beautifully off the tee, launching his drive 303 yards down the fairway to leave himself with an iron approach.

Standing nearly 175 yards from the pin, the 2025 FedEx Cup champion struck his ball perfectly, sending it on a trajectory that ended with one of the coolest sounds in golf – the unmistakable rattle of a ball dropping straight into the hole.
It was a brilliant moment, though it came too late to make any real difference to his position on the leaderboard.
He was simply too far back with too few holes remaining to mount a serious challenge for the title.
Fleetwood arrives at Riviera in fine form, having enjoyed a stellar 2025 campaign that finally saw him break through on the PGA Tour.

Last August, he claimed the Tour Championship at his 164th attempt on American soil, pocketing the FedEx Cup and its $10 million prize along the way.
The victory came after 30 top-five finishes, including six runner-up spots.
He also played a starring role in Europe’s Ryder Cup triumph at Bethpage Black, winning all four of his team matches alongside Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose before receiving the prestigious Nicklaus-Jacklin Award for his contributions.
