ATS Euromaster: Popular car garage to wind down UK operations with 700 jobs at risk
Drivers are being warned that dozens of car garages could see significant changes over the coming months, in addition to hundreds of job losses.
ATS Euromaster has confirmed that it will be winding down its UK operations in a move that could see more than 700 jobs lost as a result of “significant financial losses”.
Citing difficult market conditions, ATS Euromaster is planning to sell 35 of its 152 points of sale to Formula One Autocentres, and 14 points of sale to S&M Tyres, which trades as Elite Garages.
In total, 703 roles will be at risk of redundancy across its Aston-based head office, call centre, and remaining 103 points of sale, if the proposals go ahead.
Any ATS Euromaster sites earmarked for potential closure will remain open throughout the consultation period until April 30, 2026. If proposals are accepted, the final day of trading will be May 1, 2026.
Nick Harley, group managing director of Euromaster UK, said: “We recognise the impact this will have on our colleagues, their families, and the communities ATS Euromaster serves, and it is not a decision we have taken lightly.
“Despite the team’s massive efforts to reshape the business, improve financial performance, and secure a sustainable future, a combination of intense market competition, sluggish activity within the sector and rising costs have left us with no viable path forward to a break-even position.”

The closure of ATS Euromaster sites could be confirmed on May 1, 2026 | ATS EUROMASTERAny changes to locations in Cirencester, Blackpool, Bourne End, Brighton, Sandown, Wrexham and Yeovil are subject to landlord consent.
The proposed TUPE date for the locations that would transfer to S&M Tyres (Elite Garages) would take place on April 18, 2026.
