Luke Littler offers to pay Marcus Rashford’s wages as darts star reveals dream

Teenage darts phenomenon Luke Littler has issued a heartfelt call for Manchester United to welcome Marcus Rashford back to Old Trafford.

The 19-year-old, who has taken the darting world by storm, remains devoted to his beloved Red Devils and believes the forward can still contribute significantly to the club where he came through the academy.

“Bring Marcus Rashford back, please. Thank you,” Littler said when asked which player he most wanted to see return in United colours.

As someone who has supported the club his entire life, Littler’s passion for both darts and football runs equally deep.

Littler has witnessed Rashford’s entire journey at United, from his explosive emergence as a teenager to his peak years wearing the iconic No 10 shirt.

“I still remember his first Premier League match against Arsenal that famous debut brace under Louis van Gaal,” he recalled.

The young darts star also fondly remembers Rashford’s development under José Mourinho, when he lined up alongside Zlatan Ibrahimović and Wayne Rooney.

“And when he got the No 10 shirt, he was unbelievable that season up front with [Anthony] Martial,” Littler added.

For the 19-year-old, that electrifying version of Rashford is precisely what United should be striving to rediscover.

Rashford currently finds himself on loan at FC Barcelona, with United continuing to cover a portion of his salary during the temporary move.

The Catalan giants possess an option to secure the England international permanently for £26million when the summer transfer window opens.

However, regardless of how his spell in Spain unfolds, a return to the United first team appears highly unlikely.

Reports indicate that the club is actively working towards offloading the forward on a permanent basis, with caretaker manager Michael Carrick having no intention of bringing him back into the fold at Old Trafford.

Despite the bleak outlook from the club’s hierarchy, Littler refuses to abandon hope of a fairytale reunion.

The darts sensation even joked about personally funding a brief comeback, despite acknowledging that Rashford has yet to follow him on social media.

“I don’t think so. But I’ll pay his wages for a week, sort VIP tickets, and then he can head back to the Stretford End,” he laughed.

Rashford was frozen out at United by Ruben Amorim last term.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, helping them reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Rashford has bagged 10 goals in 34 games for Barcelona this term.
