Seattle Seahawks destroy New England Patriots to win Super Bowl after humiliating performances

The Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots 29-13 during Super Bowl 60 at Levi’s Stadium.

Sam Darnold guided his side to Super Bowl glory as they overwhelmed in the NFL’s showpiece event.

Seattle’s determination ultimately proved decisive as they maintained control throughout the proceedings against a Patriots outfit that never truly threatened a comeback.

For three quarters, neither side managed to find the endzone, leaving supporters frustrated by the lack of attacking flair.

During that time, Seahawks Kicker Jason Myers proved the sole scorer during a defence-dominated opening period, successfully converting four field goal attempts from various distances.

Seattle’s defensive unit controlled proceedings throughout, preventing New England from troubling the scoreboard whilst creating favourable field position for their own attack.

Running back Kenneth Walker III showed promising signs on the ground, helping move the Seahawks into scoring range on multiple occasions despite the offence being unable to cross the goal line before the first half break.

It was a night to forget for Drake Maye. The young star had chances to get his offence going but failed to capitalise as his nerves appeared to get the better of him.

He found himself repeatedly brought down behind the line of scrimmage by Seattle’s relentless pass rush.

The second-year signal-caller was unable to establish any offensive rhythm, with New England’s attack managing minimal yardage throughout all four quarters.

Nearly every Patriots possession concluded with a punt as their offensive unit struggled to advance the ball against the Seahawks’ dominant front.

Seattle’s defensive line controlled the trenches comprehensively, ensuring New England never threatened to enter scoring territory during the first half of this Super Bowl XLIX rematch.

The touchdown drought was finally shattered in the final quarter when Darnold found tight end AJ Barner with a 16-yard scoring strike, effectively sealing Seattle’s triumph.

New England managed a late response through Mack Hollins, though it served merely as consolation with the outcome already settled.

The victory came more than a decade after the franchise suffered heartbreak at the hands of the Patriots.
