Donald Trump has issued a statement after missing the Super Bowl, where the Seattle Seahawks will take on the New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
In the moments leading up to kick-off, the US President took to Truth Social to urge Americans to enjoy the championship game.
He wrote: “Enjoy the Super Bowl, America!
“Our Country is stronger, bigger, and better than ever before and, THE BEST IS YET TO COME! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.”
Trump also used the occasion to highlight the US’s recent economic successes.
The President cited record stock market performance and improvements in national security, attributing them to tariffs.
He wrote: “Record Stock Market, and National Security, driven by our Great TARIFFS.
“I am predicting 100,000 on the DOW by the end of my Term. REMEMBER, TRUMP WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING! I hope the United States Supreme Court is watching.”

It comes after the President opted not to attend Super Bowl LX and voiced strong criticism of the entertainment lineup.
Trump labelled halftime act Bad Bunny and pregame performers Green Day as “terrible choices” during an interview with the New York Post.
He said: “I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible.”
However, Trump revealed that his absence was due to the venue’s location.
The US President took to Truth Social to urge Americans to enjoy the championship game.

He explained: “It’s just too far away.
“I would go if it was a little bit shorter.”
Both performers have been vocal in their opposition to the Trump administration.

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was equally forthright in distancing himself from the President’s political movement.
He said: “I’m not a part of a redneck agenda. I’m not a part of the MAGA agenda.”
Rather than attending the game, Trump posted on a social media platform about international affairs.
