BBC EastEnders star Melissa Suffield delights fans with major Las Vegas marriage bombshell after cancelled Covid wedding: ‘Made it official!’

Former EastEnders star and social media personality Melissa Suffield has finally married her partner, Robert Brendan, after the pair were forced to cancel their wedding plans due to Covid.

Ms Suffield starred as Ian Beale’s daughter Lucy from 2004 to 2010, having landed the role at the age of 11.

The actress was axed from the BBC soap for “unruly behaviour,” with her character re-cast in 2012.

Since her EastEnders exit, Ms Suffield has established herself as an Instagram personality, with her account, The Confident Mama, advocating for body confidence and motherhood.

The child star has revealed she finally tied the knot with partner, Mr Brendan, with the couple’s son River the only guest at the famous Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas.

The pair got engaged in 2019, with the former actress soon sharing that their initial plans were dashed by the Covid pandemic.

The former actress explained they had decided on an impromptu wedding at the iconic Vegas venue on Monday.

Pictures and clips shared on her Instagram account saw Ms Suffield sporting a white mini dress, while Mr Brendan wore a black outfit and little River donned an adorable tuxedo.

Ms Suffield wrote: “When in Vegas… 6 years after our cancelled Covid wedding we thought we should probably get round to making it official…

“And yes, in the most ‘us’ silly and easy going way as possible. Can’t wait to catch you up on the rest of our trip but now, we’re catching a flight to California! SEE YA.” (sic)

The video collage she posted featured Barbie and Ken versions of the pair, along with snaps of the family celebrating.

The Vegas chapel is famous for quick celeb weddings, often unplanned, with stars such as Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Britney Spears and Demi Moore having wed at the famous location.

Ms Suffield shared back in 2020 that her wedding had been cancelled, but added she planned on a low-key event when the day eventually came.

She stated: “God knows when this will happen. We had a party booked, because I’m not massively traditional.

“It’s definitely not going to be a big church wedding with 200 people there, it’s just not my style at all…

“Obviously, the party we had booked is not going to happen. When it does go ahead, River will be up there front and centre with us during the service. I like to think of it as creating a family, rather than the joining of two people.”
