Igor Tudor has insisted that Tottenham have a squad strong enough to stay in the Premier League after the 47-year-old replaced Thomas Frank on an interim basis on Saturday.
Frank was axed earlier this week, just hours after a nightmare 2-1 defeat to Newcastle at St James’ Park.
Tudor arrives at Tottenham at a difficult time for the club, with Spurs sitting just five points above the relegation zone.
He has previously managed big clubs such as Juventus, Lazio and Marseille and will now immediately get to work as Tottenham look to stay in the top flight.
Speaking after his appointment was confirmed on Saturday, Tudor insisted that Tottenham have a squad strong enough to survive the drop.
He said: “It is an honour to join this club at an important moment.
“I understand the responsibility I have been handed and my focus is clear. To bring greater consistency to our performances and compete with conviction in every match.

“There is strong quality in this playing squad, and my job is to organise it, energise it and improve our results quickly.”
After Frank’s sacking, Tottenham were linked with a number of potential managers.
Harry Redknapp and Tim Sherwood both expressed interest in returning to north London, though the pair were eventually overlooked.

GETTYTottenham sporting director Johan Lange insists, however, that Tudor is the right man for the job.
“Igor brings clarity, intensity and experience of stepping into challenging moments and producing impact,” he stated.
“Our objective is straightforward – to stabilise performances, maximise the quality within the squad and compete strongly in the Premier League and Champions League.”
GB News understands that Frank could return to management as early as next season.
Crystal Palace have added him to their shortlist of replacements for Oliver Glasner, who has already confirmed he’ll be leaving Selhurst Park at the end of the campaign.
Regarding the next manager of Tottenham, former boss Mauricio Pochettino is the clear frontrunner.

As things stand, the Argentine is tied to the United States national team until after the 2026 World Cup.
But Pochettino is widely expected to return for a second stint at Spurs, having previously managed them from 2014 to 2019.
Glasner himself has emerged as a possible option given the Austrian’s impending availability.
Yet with Palace regressing this term, his stock isn’t as high as it was before.
Another option is Roberto De Zerbi, who previously managed Brighton in the Premier League.
The Italian is a free agent following his recent departure from Marseille, though Manchester United are also admirers as they explore a permanent replacement for Ruben Amorim.
