The actress reminded fans just how sizzling she still looks at 43 as she modeled a very low-cut gold dress that was also see-through while posing for Richie Shazam for Variety.

The star is a hot property these days because she works in both Hollywood and Bollywood.

The former Miss World – who was on TV’s Quantico, starred in The Matrix Resurrections and produced The White Tiger – also still makes films in India because she is incredibly popular there and the market is massive.

India is now the fastest-growing global market for streaming as it boasts more than 250 million people who stream video each month. 

That means plenty of work for the beauty. She has a new movie, The Bluff, where she plays a 19th century pirate named Bloody Mary, and there is a second season of Citadel. Plus there is the Indian film Varanasi for 2027.

Also in her interview she touched on the dramatic impact her marriage to Nick Jonas has had on her life and what she loves most about the singer. Together they share a daughter named Malti, age four.

Chopra said she is thrilled to be so in demand these days.

‘It took many years to be sitting where I am right now, a lot of pavement-pounding,’ she told writer Tatiana Siegel. ‘I am in a position now where I get to pick the things that I want to make. I understand the privilege of that very much, and I take it very seriously.’

She got her ambition from her parents who worked as doctors.

‘Discipline was a really big part of our growing up,’ she said. ‘Your word is your bond. If you say something, you have to stand for it.’  

She also said she had a tough time at age 30 in 2013 when she moved to Los Angeles.

‘To restart your career in your 30s is terrifying,’ she admitted. ‘I was secure. I was doing well financially. I was established. And I chose to blow it up.’ 

And she had a plan. 

‘Borderless entertainment. That was my dream,’ she shared. ‘Cross-pollinate with actors from different countries.’

Then she met Jonas at an Oscars party in 2017.

‘I’ve had a push-and-pull relationship with fame always,’ she noted. ‘And I’ve kind of divided myself into two. There’s my public side and my personal side.’

But there was a big fuss when they got together. 

‘I don’t know what was it about us that rubbed people the wrong way,’ she said.

They have been wed for eight years and they have a 10 year age difference.

‘I think there was the intercultural nature of it — different countries, different religions, age gap. It was very hurtful. 

‘And we both, instead of looking out, just sort of looked at each other, and we were like, “It doesn’t matter.” So it’s like water off a duck’s back now.’

‘We got married really quick, within six months of meeting,’ she relayed. 

‘When I first married him, I didn’t know if it was even real. This part of him. Because I was like, “This is crazy. This is put on.”

‘But Nick has this absolute sincerity. It inspires me every day in a profession which requires you to pivot and become whatever you need to put on.

‘He’s constantly sincere. His whole day, whatever the conversation is, he is sincere. He started working when he was really young. His parents are the most wonderful, levelheaded, absolute saints, so I can see where it comes from. But it’s such a disarming quality about him.

‘He doesn’t feel the need to deviate from that sincerity for anything or anyone. He is himself and comfortable in it, and I really learned how to be a lot more comfortable in my awkwardness and my insecurities since I got married to him. 

‘It really continues to be inspiring to me, this sincerity. We don’t see it often enough anymore, that deep truth when you just start talking to someone. You’re like, “Oh, this person is completely transparent.”‘
