Motorists are facing long traffic delays on the road this morning following serious collisions in Lincolnshire and Surrey, dramatically extending travel times.
National Highways is warning of “severe delays” on the M3 eastbound in Surrey following a collision, prompting more than seven miles of congestion on the approach.
The accident, which is being assessed by all emergency services, including Surrey Police, has forced the closure of two of four lanes between J3 (Bagshot) and J2 (M25).
National Highways Traffic Officers are also attending the scene to provide assistance with managing the growing tailback, while recovery has been arranged.
The traffic organisation suggested that drivers allow extra time for their journeys, given the seven miles of congestion.
