Punjab road crashes claim 23 lives

LAHORE:

At least 23 people died, whereas 1,242 were injured in 1,092 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) in Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Of the victims, 525 people with serious injuries were shifted to hospitals, while 717 others with minor injuries were treated at the incident sites by Rescue Medical Teams.

Rescue data showed that 732 adult and 59 underage drivers, 132 pedestrians and 401 passengers were among the victims.

The statistics showed that 206 RTCs were reported in Lahore, which affected 228 persons, placing the provincial capital at top of the list, followed by Multan and Faisalabad.

Of the victims, 1,031 were male and 234 female, while 189 were under 18 years of age, 751 between 18 and 40 years and 325 above 40 years.
