Bournemouth winger David Brookes has revealed his wife Flora has given birth to a baby girl.
The Welsh international, 28, first announced he was expecting his first child in June.
The Welshman was diagnosed with cancer in October 2021 and was forced to step away from the pitch to undergo treatment.
He was also warned that operations to battle stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma could result in the possibility of him not being able to have children, making the news extra special.
Brooks posted on social media: “Our beautiful baby girl born 27/10/25 Lottie Elizabeth Brooks Special addition to our family @florabrooks_ Love you.”
In summer, shortly before he married his then fiancée, Brooks said: “When I was diagnosed, I had those conversations and there was never any guarantees that I would be able to have children in the future.
“There was a chance that it wouldn’t have been possible. I was really lucky that it’s happened naturally.
“After the treatment, everything has gone back to normal. I’m really happy.”

He added: “I always wanted to start a family. My wife and I always wanted kids at some point.
“My situation took it out of my hands, so it’s very nice that everything has happened naturally and progressed into being a family.
“I’m really looking forward to it and I know my wife is, even though she’s the pregnant one and going through all that.
“I’m delighted – there were a few tears and now we’re really looking forward to it. We’re still a few months away – but I can’t wait.”

The couple posted pictures of the ultrasound, along with a cake that read “Baby Brooks” and a Bournemouth shirt with “Daddy 7” on the back.
The Welshman first noticed symptoms such as night sweats, fatigue, and unexplained weight loss, which led to medical checks confirming the cancer diagnosis.
The regular chemotherapy left him “barely able to get out of bed”.
After months of treatment, in a remarkable recovery, Brooks announced in May 2022 that he had completed his therapy and was officially cancer-free.

He openly shared the mental and emotional challenges of facing cancer, with fans holding a minute applause for him every home game.
The Bournemouth No7 has since gone back to playing regularly in the Premier League after appearing 33 times for the Cherries last season.
This season, he has started seven times for Andoni Iraola’s squad and is hopeful of appearing at the 2026 World Cup as Wales continue their bid under Craig Bellamy.
