Emergency services rushed to a McDonald’s restaurant on Blackpool’s Promenade on Monday after reports of a stabbing incident at one of Britain’s most iconic seaside towns.
Lancashire Police received a call at 12.24pm on December 1 regarding an assault at the fast food outlet, which sits close to the beach.
A significant emergency response arrived at the scene shortly before 12.30pm.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a man had sustained a knife wound to his leg during the incident.
The incident unfolded in broad daylight at the fast food restaurant.
The victim was subsequently transported to hospital to receive medical attention for his injury.
Police immediately began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack at the popular restaurant chain’s Blackpool branch.

The injured party was identified as a man in his 30s who had suffered the stab wound to his leg during the altercation.
Officers moved swiftly to apprehend a suspect in connection with the stabbing.

A 38-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene on suspicion of Section 18 wounding, a serious offence involving grievous bodily harm with intent.
The suspect continues to be held by Lancashire Police as officers conduct their questioning.
A spokesman for the force confirmed the details of the incident, stating: “We were called at 12.24pm yesterday (1st December) to McDonalds, Promenade, Blackpool, to a report of assault.
“Our officers attended and found that a man in his 30s had suffered a stab wound to his leg. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
“A 38-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of Section 18 wounding and is currently in custody.”
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a massive police presence flood the area, with four or five patrol cars racing to the McDonald’s opposite Blackpool South Pier.
Armed response officers were also spotted at the scene, arriving in a specialist vehicle as part of the operation.
One passer-by told The Gazette: “Loads of police (4 or 5 cars) just swarmed the McDonald’s opposite Blackpool South Pier, including an armed response jeep.”
