LAHORE:

An additional sessions court on Monday adjourned the hearing of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Rs10 billion defamation suit against PTI founder Imran Khan till February 14.

Judge Yalmaz Ghani presided over the hearing. The court granted the adjournment after counsel for the PTI founder failed to appear due to engagements before the Supreme Court.

An associate lawyer informed the court that the counsel was unable to attend owing to a hearing at the apex court. Accepting the request, the court postponed the proceedings.

The court has already summoned the witnesses of PM Shehbaz in the defamation case, which was filed over alleged defamatory statements made against him.
