Our Yorkshire Farm star Clive Owen opened up about contemplating his future on the farm as he approaches 70.

During Monday’s episode of Our Farm Next Door, the farmer acknowledged that running the operation is best suited to younger people.

“It is a young fellas’ game,” Mr Owen told viewers. “I am almost 70 now, so I have got to think about what comes next.

“It is something the family are discussing at the moment to see where the future lies for everyone.”

The Yorkshire farmer appeared in good spirits about handing over duties, joking about relinquishing his sheep-shearing equipment.

“It is nice for me to pass on my shears,” he added with a laugh.

Mr Owen revealed that Ms Owen and their son Milo would be taking on shearing responsibilities, whilst he intended to step back from the task if possible.

The farmer also offered a rare glimpse into how he and his former partner have navigated their separation whilst continuing to work together on the farm.

“Me and Amanda, for some crazy reason, it has worked out alright,” Mr Owen explained. “We are not together, but we can keep things going to suit everybody, and that is what we intend to do.”

Ms Owen echoed the positive sentiment about their arrangement, suggesting that maintaining a busy schedule has been beneficial for the entire family.

“Things are good, and I think being busy plays a huge part in keeping everybody’s focus,” she said.

The couple’s ability to maintain a functional working partnership despite no longer being romantically involved appears to have provided stability for their children and the farm’s operations.

Miles, the eldest of the Owen children currently living on the farm, also spoke about his own future during the programme.

The young man acknowledged feeling a sense of responsibility given his position in the family.

“I am the eldest here now on the farm, so now, a lot of the pressure is on me, you could say, but it is just one of those things,” Miles said.

While he hasn’t mapped out his long-term plans in detail, Miles confirmed his commitment to remaining within the agricultural sector, though he suggested his path might extend beyond traditional hill farming.

“I hadn’t thought about the future and what I’d wanna do that far yet, but definitely something with agriculture. But there is a lot more agriculture in the world than just hill farms,” he explained.

The episode also featured a celebration for Nancy’s birthday, which prompted an outpouring of reactions from viewers struck by how much the Owen children have matured.

Fans took to social media to share their astonishment at the youngster’s appearance, with one commenting: “I am enjoying the second part of the series, can’t believe how tall and different the girls look.”

Others remarked on the swift passage of time, with one viewer writing: “OMG, how is Nancy nine already?”

Several fans noted the rapid growth of all the Owen children, with particular attention paid to Nancy’s development. One observer also pointed out a striking resemblance between Nancy and her sister Raven, noting the siblings share similar features.
