Nick Reiner, who has been accused of killing his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, in their home in Brentwood, Los Angeles.
But the attorney representing him, Alan Jackson, has previously admired the filmmaker’s work, which, in his words, motivated him in his career.
It was the movie A Few Good Men, which the late director helmed. The film follows a courtroom drama of “a military lawyer who is defending two U.S. Marines charged with killing another Marine,” starring Jack Nicholson, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Kevin Bacon.
“I’ve seen it so many times, and it gives me such a boost,” the Texas-based lawyer earlier told Vanity Fair.
Nick, meanwhile, is facing two charges of first-degree murder, but he did not appear in court for the proceeding because he has not “medically cleared” yet, his attorney tells the press.
