Odell Beckham Jr is free to return to the NFL after being reinstated from his six-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy.

The veteran wide receiver, 33, accepted the ban at the start of October after failing a PED test last season while he was playing for the Miami Dolphins, despite insisting he did not knowingly take any banned substances.

After being released by the Dolphins in December of last year, Beckham received and served his suspension as a free agent, although he was still eligible to sign with a new team in that time.

Back in August he ruled out the prospect of retirement and stressed that he is ‘not done yet’ in the NFL, while also claiming to have received interest from several teams.

Now Beckham’s comeback plans could start to gather pace after his doping ban ended on Tuesday, making him a much more appealing option to franchises in need of a receiver.

Last month he identified the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs and two of his former teams, the Los Angeles Rams and New York Giants, as his preferred landing spots.

The Giants may be interested in particular given they are without injured Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo for the remainder of the season, while the Chiefs could have one eye on him amid Xavier Worthy’s fitness woes this year.

Beckham has been navigating the latter stage of his career on a year-by-year basis the past few seasons, having signed with the Baltimore Ravens and Miami in recent years after sitting out the 2022 season with a torn ACL.

He joined the Dolphins in May 2024 but never got going under Mike McDaniel, recording just nine receptions for 55 yards in nine appearances.

Back in the 2021 campaign, the three-time Pro Bowler helped the Rams win the Super Bowl after being traded to LA by the Cleveland Browns, catching the opening touchdown pass of the game before suffering the torn ACL.

Since that injury, he has only registered 44 catches for 620 yards and three touchdowns in 23 games for the Ravens and Dolphins while his form has deteriorated.

Beckham’s NFL career got off to a blistering start in New York, where he caught 575 passes for 7,987 yards and 59 touchdowns.
