National Olive Festival begins in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI:

The 10th National Olive Festival 2025 commenced with great enthusiasm at Allama Iqbal Park, Rawalpindi. The event was organised by the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi in collaboration with the Olive Foundation.

Beautifully decorated stalls showcasing a variety of products attracted a large number of visitors. Director General PHA Rawalpindi, Ahmad Hassan Ranjha, made a special visit to the festival, inspected different stalls, and reviewed the overall arrangements.

On the occasion, Ahmad Hassan Ranjha was also presented with a traditional Ajrak from the Wasiab region. During his visit, he interacted with exhibitors and discussed the displayed products in detail.

He stated that the festival marks ten successful years of the event, celebrating the farmers, researchers and entrepreneurs who have played a key role in making Pakistan self-sufficient in the olive sector.

The opening ceremony was held at 11am and was followed by the inspection of stalls. Addressing the participants, Ranjha said the festival serves as an important national platform to promote olive cultivation, value addition, agribusiness opportunities, and sustainable agriculture in Pakistan.
