Drivers are facing long delays on the M1 this afternoon following a multi-vehicle collision and vehicle fire.
The M1 southbound has been closed between J15 (A45, Northampton/Roade) and J14 (Milton Keynes) by National Highways.
Emergency services are on the scene dealing with the situation, while traffic officers from National Highways are assisting with the management of the congestion.
Roadside cameras show lengthy queues of traffic, as well as gaps on the right-hand lane for emergency vehicles to get through.
Fire engines and ambulances can be seen near the vehicle fire, as well as vehicles believed to have been involved in the accident.
National Highways has suggested that drivers may want to re-route or delay their journey if they will be impacted by the closure.
A diversion route has also been installed for motorists waiting in the long columns of traffic near the accident.
