A convicted killer on a most wanted gang members’ list was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) – with the man’s shocking mugshot featuring the numbers ‘666’ slathered across his forehead.

The stunning picture was revealed as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that ICE had arrested Antonio Israel Lazo–Quintanilla last month.

The bottom half of his face was also covered in tattoos, as he looked straight at the camera.

Lazo–Quintanilla was an illegal immigrant and a member of the 18th Street Gang, according to the DHS.

His only crime in the United States was driving without a license, the agency said.

However, Lazo–Quintanilla was wanted in El Salvador for aggravated homicide, extortion, possession of drugs and other felonies.

He was also on El Salvador’s most wanted gang members’ list, the DHS said.

DHS assistant secretary Tricia McLaughlin said his arrest was a 'perfect example of ICE targeting the worst of the worst'

Lazo–Quintanilla’s arrest was hailed as a ‘perfect example of ICE targeting the worst of the worst’ by DHS assistant secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

She said: ‘He may lack a violent rap sheet in the US but this criminal illegal alien is clearly a public safety threat.

‘The media’s false claims that ICE is not arresting the worst of the worst simply has no grounding. In reality, ICE is arresting criminal illegal aliens before they can victimize Americans.’

It was not immediately known when Lazo–Quintanilla arrived in the US, and he could now be extradited to El Salvador.

He was arrested last month in Maryland for driving without a license, according to The New York Post

The 18th Street Gang was called a ‘violent transnational criminal organization’ by the US Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of New York this June.

The gang – also called Barrio 18 in Spanish – is spread out across the US and Central America.

McLaughlin said that 70 percent of ICE’s arrests were criminal illegal immigrants charged or convicted of a crime in the US.

The Trump administration has ramped up immigration efforts around the country.

Last month, a suburban Chicago police officer was left stunned when ICE agents arrested him after officials discovered he was living in the US illegally.

Radule Bojovic, of Montenegro, had been working as a sworn officer with the Hanover Park Police Department since January.

He was taken into custody after the DHS said Bojovic had overstayed a B–2 tourist visa, and was supposed to have left the US in 2015.

ICE also arrested Marta Brizeyda Renderos Leiva, 39, at Salt Lake City airport after she was given a final order of removal in absentia in February 2020.
