Miely Cyrus admits she ptiches her talent to Hollywood producers during social events.

The former Disney star, who recently won a Grammy for her son ‘Flowers,’ says she recentl had a chance to speak to James Cameron about her music. The songstress has now written a credits song “Dream As One” for the new Avatar: Fire and Ash.

“I kind of throw it out there as I always do,” Cyrus tells PEOPLE.

Recalling how she approached Cameron, Cyrus reveals: “I already knew the answer to, ‘So what have you been up to?’ I know he’s been up to Avatar for a very long time.”

Cyrus’ rcalls her message to Cameron, adding: “‘Just lemme know if you ever need any music,’” as she recall

 “No, literally,” says Cyrus, “that’s why I went to the Oscars this year. Everybody that came up and introduced themselves, I said, ‘Well, if you need any music, I’m around.’”

This comes as the singer shared that she found comfort in music as she continued to heal from one of the most painful moments of her life.

Years after losing her Malibu home in a devastating wildfire, Cyrus revealed that songwriting played a major role in helping her process the loss and move forward.  

While speaking to Variety, Cyrus explained that her song Dream As One, written for the film Avatar: Fire and Ash, was mainly inspired by her own journey.

The movie’s story follows a community forced to survive after their home is destroyed, a story she strongly connected with.

“It’s literally part of my life. Losing my home, rebuilding from the ground up,” she said, adding that music became her way to heal.

She continued, “Anytime I get to put something that I’ve experienced somewhere that gets to help other people, that’s really the medicine in music. It’s the truest healer.”
