On Wednesday, Meghan Markle graced the cover of Harper’s Bazaar magazine for its December 2025/January 2026 edition – but now, some are noticing that her poses and outfits in some of the shots have a resemblance to those of Princess Diana.
The mom-of-two posed for multiple photographs in various looks for the cover story, including a sleeveless red dress with a dramatic cape draping over one shoulder.
The cover photo of Meghan saw her in a low-cut, black silk blazer with a tie at the waist, as the magazine’s cover was titled, ‘Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Meets Her Moment.’
In other pictures, which were captured in black-and-white film, she posed cross-legged on the floor dressed down in a button-down and jeans while barefoot, and another as she laid on a boucle armchair in an off-the-shoulder silk dress.
But some users on Reddit are saying that these photos look similar to those that Princess Diana took for various magazines throughout the years, as they went so far as posting comparisons photos on the social media website.
On X, formerly Twitter, some of Meghan’s fans posted the same thing, writing that the pictures gave the ‘same energy.’
Princess Diana posed for Vogue’s October 1997 issue in a red, halter-neck dress that looked similar to the one that Meghan wore in Harper’s Bazaar.
Another picture that looked similar to one of Meghan’s saw Princess Diana in her final photo spread in Vanity Fair in July 1997, titled, ‘Diana Reborn,’ where she is sitting cross-legged in black jeans and a white turtleneck.

Similarly, in the 1997 Vanity Fair story, Princess Diana was captured lying on a cream couch, staring into the camera, just as Meghan did for this recent shoot.
It is unknown how much involvement Meghan had in the creative direction of her shoot.
Daily Mail reached out to Harper’s Bazaar for comment.
Many fans pointed this out on Reddit and X, as they noticed the apparent similarities between the photos.
‘Oh my God. I gasped when I saw this,’ one person wrote on Reddit.
Someone else typed, ‘Oh damn.’
‘This is too weird,’ another commented.
Interestingly enough, this is not the first time that Meghan’s style has drawn comparisons to Princess Diana’s.

In 1987, Princess Diana sported a spectacular pink satin evening gown, featuring a deep off-shoulder neckline that showed off her collarbone.
The dress, designed by Catherine Walker, was selected by Diana for a Gala performance by the Royal Ballet at the Berlin Opera House.
This look appeared to be a source of inspiration for Meghan’s Trooping the Color ensemble in 2018, when she wore a light pink Carolina Herrera dress with a similar neckline and button detailing.
And, in 2024, Meghan wore a strappy red gown by Carolina Herrera to attend the LA Children’s Hospital Gala, channeling a similar look worn by Princess Diana in 1995 to a dinner party in Argentina.
Diana’s dress was made by Catherine Walker, in the same shade of red, featuring a plunging off-the-shoulder neckline and halter strap detailing.
As Meghan posed for photos for Harper’s Bazaar, she also gave an extensive interview to the publication.
She spoke about her loving relationship with Prince Harry, and how much he loves her.

The Duchess of Sussex also shared that her husband brought out a ‘childlike wonder’ and ‘playfulness’ in her.
