RAWALPINDI:

A man shot and killed his brother-in-law for marrying his sister in the limits of Jatli Police Station, Rawalpindi.

According to a police official, Muhammad Zaman said that his son, Risalat Hussain, lived in Qutbal area where he used to tend their land. As per his complaint, Hussain had married twice. The first marriage was with Nafisa Bibi, with whom he had one son and two daughters. The second marriage was a court marriage with Humera. His second marriage was not supported by Humera’s family and there was a dispute between him and his in-laws. His father-in-law, Amir Ashfaq, and his son, Muneeb Bilal, had threatened Hussain with serious consequences several times.

On the day he was shot, Hussain had gone to Qutbal base. From there, Hussain’s cousin called and informed Muhammad Zaman that Hussain had been shot and killed by Muneeb Bilal.

When his father went to the Qutbal base, he found that he had been pranked and that Risalat Hussain was sitting in a hotel with his cousin and others and drinking tea. It was then that Muneeb Bilal and an unknown person approached them on a motorcycle and opened fire, killing Risalat Hussain and fleeing.

The police shifted the body to the hospital for post-mortem examination.
