Investor sentiment remained grim on Thursday as the stock market plunged in early trade, extending the previous day’s selloff and briefly erasing more than 2,500 points.

Pakistan Stock Exchange’s (PSX) benchmark KSE-100 Index tumbled to an intraday low of 114,661.20 points, reflecting a steep decline of 2,564.94 points, or -2.19%, from the previous close.

Despite some recovery from the session’s low, the index remained in the red. The session’s intraday high was 116,568.13 points, down 658.01 points, or -0.56%, from Wednesday’s close of 117,226.14.
