Mariah Carey turned heads as she was honoured by MusiCare as their Person of the Year on Friday at the Los Angeles Convention Centre.
The singer, 56, looked stunning in a floor length sheer black gown which had a corseted bodice and a floral pattern as she posed on the red carpet of the star-studded event.
The All I Want For Christmas hitmaker completed the look with a diamond necklace, dangling earrings and layered bracelets on each wrist as her long blonde tresses fell well past her shoulders in an effortless wave.
Mariah was celebrated for her ‘extraordinary creative achievements and dedication to philanthropic causes, while raising vital funds to support the health and well-being of the music community.’
‘Mariah Carey’s influence extends far beyond her remarkable artistry,’ said Theresa Wolters, Executive Director of MusiCares.
‘She has used her platform consistently to provide tangible support to communities, whether through disaster relief, youth empowerment, or programs that help those facing barriers to opportunity.’

The executive added: ‘Her work exemplifies the values at the heart of MusiCares: creating systems of care that lift people up and ensure music professionals and communities can thrive.
‘Honoring her as Person of the Year celebrates both her incredible musical legacy and her dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.’
Beyond her music, the singer has provided relief for communities impacted by Hurricane Katrina and the COVID-19 pandemic.
She founded Camp Mariah in partnership with the Fresh Air Fund to support underserved youth and has championed initiatives advancing health, education and social welfare, reflecting a lifelong commitment to giving back.
But the music icon has still kept herself humble despite all her success as she says she is always still trying.
She told Billboard: ‘Everybody has their own little meanings for what things they say. But I don’t call myself a legend. I’m just still working, still trying hard.’
She added: ‘I’ve always worked really hard because I knew [from the start] that I wanted to be here for a long time.
‘The one lesson I’ve learned is to just be true to yourself. And I was fortunate enough to be able to do that. There were some things along the way that weren’t ideal, you know, but here I am.’
