Congratulations are in order. Liverpool eased to Premier League glory this season and that is testament to the incredible standards they now hold themselves too, from the manager down to the tea lady.
No other club has been able to come close; Chelsea threatened early in the season before capitulating, Manchester City shot themselves in the foot around the festive break and Arsenal ran them the closest but never truly came close.
This is no easy feat, to lead the pack for so long and without any real pressure is down to Liverpool’s relentless machine orchestrated by Premier League debutant Arne Slot.
Breaking City’s dominance has been something all clubs have been desperate to see this season and not many expected the Reds to be the ones to do so.

But let’s get one thing straight; this victory does not take Liverpool past Manchester United in terms of stature.
Liverpool’s Premier League title sees them draw level with their big rivals on number of titles won with 20.
United’s last Premier League title is now becoming a faded memory; led by the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013, the Red Devils have lost their ruthless winning edge since the Scotsman retired at the end of that season.
Liverpool since then have won every trophy – including two Premier League titles and the Champions League. It is obvious to see who is the more alluring club right now, while United struggle and sit 14th in the table on 39 points – 43 behind their arch enemies.
But it must also be reminded that this is just Liverpool’s second Premier League title, ending a wait of 30 years without a title.
United, during that time, have won 13 Premier League titles – a record – with Manchester City collecting the next-most with eight.

Ferguson led the Red Devils throughout this period, including their most successful period during the 1990s where they won five league titles, four FA Cups, one League Cup, one Cup Winners’ Cup and one Champions League – including the treble in 1999.
Of course, football existed before the Premier League, and Liverpool’s domination of the 1970s and 1980s cannot be forgotten; winning First Division and European Cups for fun.
Go back a little further and it was United who were making all the noise; though Liverpool’s six European titles to United’s three sees them take the title of England’s best club in Europe.

Nevertheless, the prestige of United sees them triumph over their rivals – even in today’s world they can convince some of the most sought-after players to make their way to Old Trafford over others.
Matheus Cunha looks set to be the latest example despite being chased by Newcastle, Arsenal and, according to some reports, Liverpool.
The Red Devils will not stop their spending there, too, and look set to expand Old Trafford into one of the most impressive sports stadia on the planet.
LATEST SPORTS NEWS:
Liverpool will likely make one big signing this summer, but that might be as far as their finances can stretch – with Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez looking set to become that man.
So while Slot can celebrate this season and their fans can gloat over United a while longer, to say they are now head and shoulders above their rivals… they have a way to go yet.
