A man committed suicide along with his baby girl by jumping into Lower Jhelum Canal in Phularwan area, here on Friday for some domestic reasons.

Rescue 1122 sources said that a man, identified as Irtaza Nasar (35), along with his baby daughter, Hudeeba, committed suicide.

Upon receiving the information, Rescue 1122 divers and a police team, led by DSP Circle Bhalwal and SHO concerned, reached the spot and fished out the body of Hudeeba, while searching operation for Irtaza was still under way, till filing of the report.

Sources also said that Irtaza, before committing suicide, recorded a video message in which he stated that he, along with his baby daughter, was going to end his life.
