Manchester City edged past Leeds United with a slender 1-0 triumph at Elland Road, keeping their Premier League title aspirations firmly alive.
The victory leaves Pep Guardiola’s side trailing leaders Arsenal by just two points as the season enters its crucial final stretch.
Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo proved the match-winner, finding the net moments before the interval to settle a tense encounter in West Yorkshire.
The forward latched onto a driven low delivery from Rayan Ait-Nouri, stretching to guide the ball home for what proved the decisive moment.
It marked Semenyo’s sixth goal for City since his January transfer from Bournemouth.
Despite the narrow scoreline, the champions had to work hard for the three points against a spirited Leeds outfit who caused problems throughout the opening period.
