Elon Musk‘s X has crashed for thousands of users across the US.

The platform, which Musk purchased for $44 billion, went down around 2:30pm ET as users noticed the app and website were not working.

X has become Elon Musk’s primary platform for sharing his often controversial and unconventional views

Downdetector, a site that monitors online outages, shows issues are plaguing the service connection.

The problems are largely impacting users along the US East Coast, with some experiencing issues in Dallas, Los Angeles and Chicago

The outage comes as Musk has faced a series of setbacks in the past few months, including a political defeat in Wisconsin, significant drops in Tesla‘s stock value and increased criticism of his role in government and his ‘DOGE’ initiative.

This is a developing story… More updates to come

Users have shared their frustrations on Downdetector, saying X’s ‘servers are as slow as a snail.’

Other users cannot even open the website or access the app.
