She is no stranger to a wild get-together, from day-drinking with pal Billie Piper on Primrose Hill during lockdown, to dancing late into the night at a luxury Mexico hotel in January. 

But it appears Lily James might have bitten off more than she can chew with her latest boyfriend’s antics as friends share concerns about his party lifestyle.

The 36-year-old has been dating the stuntman Bobby Holland Hanton, 41, who she is believed to have met on the set of the action thriller, Subversion, filmed on the Gold Coast of Australia in September. 

The couple were pictured last weekend leaving London’s Alexandra Palace after watching a five-hour set by the DJ, Solomun.

One source close to the Downton Abbey actress told the Mail on Sunday: ‘She is really in love with Bobby. He’s down to earth and not like the usual actors she dates.

‘But there are definitely concerns that he might get a bit too wild sometimes with his partying, especially for Lily, who has been wanting to settle down, start a quieter life and a family, for some time.’ 

As a stunt double for Daniel Craig, Ryan Reynolds and now close friend Chris Hemsworth, Hanton often talks about his fitness routines and how he maintains his muscular physique. 

In 2020, the actor – who split up from wife Rachel Hunter in 2022 before dating Love Island actress Maura Higgins – decided to quit boozing for 12 months after drinking alcohol while on painkillers for a recent back surgery.

 He told the fitness magazine, Centr: ‘On average, I’d have a glass or two with dinner with my wife on Thursday or Friday, maybe Saturday night go out to dinner and have a few more drinks, and then on a Sunday, I’d have a couple of beers with a roast.

‘So on average, let’s say seven to eight drinks a week.’ 

He said he had cut down to just one or two drinks per week and preached: ‘I’ve changed a lot of things for the better and I’m reaping the benefits.’ 

He met Lily at the Red Lion pub in Fareham, Hampshire – a year after he split from Maura following a ten-month relationship – and they were first pictured as a couple there last month. 

A post on the pub’s Facebook page said: ‘Tonight we had a visit from Downton Abbey’s Lily James alongside Thor stuntman Bobby Hanton. They enjoyed a drink and a game of pool, plus gained a new miniature fan club with staff kids.’ 

A picture showed the Cinderella actress with her boyfriend’s arm around her and the pair holding hands and laughing while enjoying some beers. 

Lily’s longest relationship was with actor Matt Smith, the youngest ever Doctor Who, who appeared to break her heart in 2019 when their five-year romance ended.

In October 2020, she was pictured nuzzling married actor Dominic West on a scooter in Rome which prompted the actor and his wife, Catherine, to insist their marriage was fine the next day at the marital home in Wiltshire.

By 2021, Lily had settled down mostly in LA with ‘Mikey Shoes,’ real name Michael Shuman, the bassist of the hard-living hard rock band Queens Of The Stone Age, four years her senior. That lasted from 2021 to 2023.
