Twenty years ago, Kanye West released a track called Crack Music. In this song, The Game was supposed to add his verses, but he left without recording.

Now, he is reuniting with Ye to make a version of the song, which he calls Crack Music 2, for his first Gangsta Grillz mixtape with DJ Drama.

“[It’s called] ‘Crack Music 2,’” he shares on Real 92.3 L.A.’s The Cruz Show. “[With the original song], Ye called me to the studio and I rolled up. He wanted me to do a verse and get on the hook, but I had some fine shit in the car so I was like, ‘That’s that crack music, n-gga!’ and I left.”

But on popular demand, the Compton rapper adds, “But the fans always was like, Man, you should have put a verse on ‘Crack Music,’ so we redid it.”

The track is part of his debut on the Gangsta Grillz mixtape, titled Every Movie Needs a Trailer. Moreover, Mike & Keys produced it.

“It’s gonna be good, man,” he says, adding, “It’s my first time doing a Gangsta Grillz. [DJ Drama and I] always talked about it over the years … [We recorded it in] two days. 19 songs from scratch.”

Along with Ye, Mozzy, and Jeremih will also feature in the mixtape, whose release date The Game announced was Nov 28.

But it did not drop on that date, and it is unclear when it will come. However, what is confirmed is that the mixtape serves as a springboard for his much-anticipated album, The Documentary 3, which will be released in 2026.
