Kanye West appears to be moving forward, but his past continues to haunt him.
While the Grammy-winning rapper, 48, has recently attempted to make amends for three years of antisemitism, officials in São Paulo, Brazil – where West is slated to take the stage November 29 – are taking no chances of a pivot back to racism.
Authorities in the South American locale are specifically seeking out legal remedies if West attempts to perform the track Heil Hitler, which he released this past May, TMZ reported.
The São Paulo State Prosecutor’s Office received a complaint about the Through the Wire rapper ahead of his show in the city, sources told the outlet on Wednesday.
Daily Mail has reached out to West’s rep for further comment on the story.
The Black Skinhead artist told celebrity Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto last week that he was prepared to accept ‘accountability’ for his past antisemitism.

‘I feel really blessed to be able to sit here with you today and just take accountability,’ the Runaway artist said. ‘I was dealing with some various issues of bipolar.
‘So it would take the ideas I had and have me take them to an extreme where I would forget about the protection of the people around me or and myself.’
West since 2022 has propagated antisemitism through comments on his popular social platforms and media appearances; as well as in his work in music and fashion.
Among those involved, insiders told TMZ, include Councilwoman Cris Monteiro, who has opposed West’s potential performance of the song glorifying Hitler.
Ana Beatriz Pereira de Souza Frontini, a local prosecutor, has issued mandates banning the display of any Nazi- or swastika-related merchandise for the West concert, according to the outlet.
Any citizen ‘who makes any apology for Nazism’ or facist regimes will be taken into custody at the show, São Paulo Mayor Ricardo Nunes said.
Police will have an enhanced presence at the concert in anticipation of any issues that might arise, sources told the outlet.
Concert promoters Guilherme Cavalcante and Jean Fabrício Ramos would also be on the legal hook should the Carnival artist perform the Nazi-inspired track in São Paulo.
While West and his team have been selling tickets, they have yet to secure a venue, insiders told TMZ.

The latest series of events come more than three years after West began losing a number of high-profile business relationships amid his initial series of antisemetic meltdowns in the fall of 2022.
West remained in the crosshairs of controversy this past February, when the shop on his Yeezy Website was taken offline by Shopify after he was selling a white shirt with a black swastika in the center.
West had advertised his site with an expensive ad broadcast in various markets during the Super Bowl, including Los Angeles.
The Anti-Defamation League said in a post on X/Twitter February 10: ‘As if we needed further proof of Kanye’s antisemitism, he chose to put a single item for sale on his website – a t-shirt emblazoned with a swastika.
‘If that wasn’t enough, the t-shirt is labeled on Kanye’s website as “HH-01,”which is code for “Heil Hitler.”‘
Said the ADL: ‘Kanye was tweeting vile antisemitism nonstop since last week. There’s no excuse for this kind of behavior.’
The organization added, ‘Even worse, Kanye advertised his website during the Super Bowl, amplifying it beyond his already massive social media audience.’
