Joe Rogan is officially the King of Podcasts.
For the Joe Rogan Experience has dethroned the New York Times‘ The Daily to claim the top spot on Apple’s annual rankings, it was announced on Tuesday.
The comedian had already held the number-one spot on Spotify and can now claim the crown among the world’s two top podcast publishers.
The 58-year-old returned to Apple in February 2024 after a three-year absence, when Spotify gave up exclusive rights to his show as part of a multi-year contract renewal said to be worth up to $250million.
His podcast is a long-form interview program that covers topics including science, comedy, current affairs and philosophy.
It draws an estimated eight million monthly viewers on Apple.
The Daily ranked number one on the platform last year but fell to second place in 2025.
The rankings reflect average weekly consumption measured continuously. The top charts refer to rankings in the US only.

The show is hosted by Times reporters Michael Barbaro, Rachel Abrams, and Natalie Kitroeff, who are aided by a team of editors and producers.
Airing five days a week, it debuted in 2017 after Donald Trump’s inauguration.
In contrast, Rogan’s show is mainly off-the-cuff.
It ranked third place on Apple’s list in 2024 following his return to the platform.
Rogan’s ascent comes as personality-driven podcasts with loyal communities continue to find success.
Certain episodes have skyrocketed on the platform, including his sit-down with Elon Musk on Election Day last year.
A March episode featuring vaccine skeptic Dr Suzanne Humphries was also popular.
In his most recent episode, Rogan interviewed comedian Brian Simpson.
Also making up the top ten Apple podcasts were self-help show The Mel Robbins Podcast as well as Call Her Daddy.
