A former army cadet has admitted possessing terrorist bomb-making material after threatening to carry out a Valentine’s Day shooting at his school.

Dihan Rahman, 19, from Uxbridge in west London, pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey on Friday to three terrorism offences involving documents and videos capable of assisting someone preparing an attack.

The offences were committed when Rahman was 17.

The court heard the teenager also threatened violence at his school prom and shared personal details of female pupils online to incite harassment.

Rahman changed his plea on the second day of his trial, having previously denied possessing extremist material that included instructions reportedly used by the Manchester Arena bomber.

Prosecutors said the case marked the first known example of an individual combining far-right and violent Islamist ideologies through a shared hatred of Jewish people.

Rahman was an administrator of the Sturmjager Division, a violent extremist Telegram group that attracted young followers obsessed with mass killers and far-right figures.

Prosecutor Serena Gates told the court Rahman had “embraced” an extreme ideology featuring graphic videos of women being mutilated alongside neo-Nazi and jihadist propaganda.

He photographed himself in cadet uniform performing Nazi salutes with “Heil Hitler” captions and displayed the number 1488, a known white supremacist code.

At the same time, Rahman possessed material glorifying Hamas and the October 7 attacks on Israel, as well as ISIS execution footage, appearing to have made “common cause” between the two extremist movements.

He admitted stalking a girl two years younger than him after she rejected his romantic advances, along with her friend and a teacher who investigated his behaviour.

The court was told Rahman had adopted “incel ideology”, an online subculture of so-called “involuntary celibates” who blame women for their lack of relationships and advocate violence.

His phone contained graphic videos showing women being mutilated, lashed and strangled with cable ties, prosecutors said.

Even after his arrest, Rahman continued targeting his victims from prison, the Old Bailey heard.

He shared “doxing” material online, publishing personal information to encourage harassment and suggesting the women were part of a conspiracy against him.

The investigation began in March 2024 after allegations of stalking and threats against two schoolgirls.

A teacher who checked Rahman’s phone found images of beheadings, corpses, Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein.

Counter-terrorism officers later seized his digital devices, uncovering two bomb-making instruction videos on an encrypted drive and a third extremist document on a USB stick.

Rahman was arrested again in November 2024 for breaching bail conditions after contacting victims online and posting threatening images of the prom venue alongside a photo of a Nazi soldier holding a gun.

Detective Chief Superintendent Helen Flanagan said: “This case is yet another example of a growing and concerning trend of young people being drawn into extremist, violent and terrorist ideologies – principally from what they are exposed to and consuming online.”

Rahman is due to be sentenced on May 6.
