From the 90s yearbook trend to the action figure trend, several social media crazes have made use of articifical intelligence (AI).
Now, ‘hot girl’ influencers are jumping on the AI bandwagon.
Several social media stars have started using chatbots to add cute animals to their photos, ranging from fluffy bunnies to huge horses.
X user @jameygannon pointed out the trend in a now–viral post, which has been viewed over 14 million times.
‘hot girls have started using AI trend,’ she wrote, alongside photos of four examples.
‘i’m seeing; photo–surrealism with cute animals.’
Fans appear to be conflicted about the trend, with one questioning whether it’s ‘cool or scary’.
Another replied: ‘I’ll take AI slop over animal abuse any day!’

In the examples posted by @jameygannon on X, four influencers can be seen posing alongside digital animals.
Two of the women are surrounded by fluffy dogs, while one is crouching next to cute rabbits.
The fourth influencer has gone so far as to add a horse into her photo – which has particularly appealed to many commenters.
‘The only good one is the horse one,’ one user replied.
Another joked: ‘I hope the horse one was just a girl who didn’t realize the trend was AI and just made that happen to stay relevant.’
While it might look technically advanced, the trend is actually fairly simple.
All you’ll need is a full–length photo, an idea of the animals you’d like to include, and access to Google AI Studio.
Here’s how you can jump on board the trend and add cute creature to your photos.

How to try the AI animal trend
1. Open Google AI Studio
To begin, visit aistudio.google.com – this is completely free to use.
On the left panel, click ‘Build’.
2. Upload a photo
Choose a high–resolution photo of yourself.
If you want to make it appear as if you’re surrounded by animals, it’s best to opt for a full–body image.
3. Write a clear prompt
While it might look technically advanced, the trend is actually fairly simple. All you’ll need is a full–length photo, an idea of the creatures you’d like to include, and access to Google AI Studio
Make sure you give Google’s AI a clear description of what you want, including the animal, its colour, and how many of them you’d like.
For example, you could write something like:
Add realistic images of seven brown, fluffy dogs into this photo.
Five of the dogs should be running around at my feet, while two should be in my arms.
4. Review and adjust your image
If it doesn’t appear immediately, don’t worry – the image may take several minutes to load.
Once it has been generated, take a look and see if you’d like any changes.
Happy with your creation? Click the floppy disc icon to save it and share across social media.
Make sure you label your image as ‘AI–generated’ before you post it.
Alternatively, Meta’s apps – including Instagram and Facebook – will automatically label any image they think contains AI–generated or AI–modified content.
